Up until recently, some lingering bugs in the cache handling prevented us from enabling the data cache in U-Boot for our i.MX6 boards.
Some work by Andrew Gabbasov and inclusion of a patch that had been lingering for a while, we now feel comfortable shipping with this enabled by default.
We’ll have a new production release prepped very soon, and you should see a dramatic performance boost, especially in display output speed and when booting large RAM disks.
